Good Afternoon Chef Larry,

Brian gave me your email address yesterday, and I thought I would take the opportunity to write a note of appreciation to you and Gwen.

I want you to know how much I appreciate the opportunity you are giving my sons, Brian & David. You have, in this short period of time, been such a great role model for them. I feel this is exactly what they needed in their lives…. a mentor who has the patience and knowledge to teach them skills that will lead to their personal growth and a brighter future.

Both of my sons have struggled in the past and have made poor life choices. As a result of these choices, they have been struggling to get back on the right path and find hope for a better future.

Brian is thrilled that you are investing time in him, and I can hear the excitement in his voice when he speaks of you or the restaurant. He has expressed that he has finally found something he really enjoys doing and takes pride in. David is also learning – maybe he isn’t cooking but he is also watching and learning. I’ve said to them that the experience they are getting from you is invaluable and they couldn’t agree more.

They are really fine, respectful young men and aside from their poor choices in the past, I could not be more proud of them.

I have been praying for quite some time that someone would take a chance on them. And, you and Gwen, certainly have. They know their family cares about them but for someone outside our family to show some interest in them and see their potential makes them feel even more worthy. Words cannot adequately express my gratitude, but I truly feel as if my prayers have been answered.

I think I noticed Brian’s chest stands out a little more now since he has been told he makes the best tasting dinner rolls ever!! David stands taller now just because he has a job and a purpose every day. J
